The Old Forge is registered to care for two boys and girls aged 6 to 18, who have stabilised and are making good progress with their development, education and care plans.

Set in a village community, The Old Forge can accommodate children and young people with attachment needs, past trauma, emotional and behavioural difficulties, self-harm behaviour, ASD, CSE and mild learning difficulties.

Once young people have stabilised in one of our rural homes, they can progress with their recovery in this friendly, village environment, before making the transition to foster care, family life or more independent living.

Caring staff work with children and young people on a 1:1 basis, in line with the principles of PLACE – Play, Love, Attachment, Curiosity and Empathy.
